Core Network Design

I was looking at network features before they were implemented, testing them and then writing a feasibility report based on benefits vs cost to see if it is worth implementing. 

Indoor Network Planning (London)

Planning requests submitted by corporate customers for indoor coverage. I visited their premises to see where to put antennas and how many. I then managed an external contractor to implement the solution.

Describe what your job involves on a day-to-day basis

Upgrading the software of the hardware on the network then testing all features to make sure that they still work and all bugs have been fixed. I also help solve problems, which usually involves sitting down with several companies and trying to get them to work together to find a resolution.

How would you describe the Orange culture?

You will find people will bend over backwards to help you out. I have always felt that you can speak freely and with confidence to anyone, no matter how senior in the organisation they are.

What can Orange offer you in terms of career path?

You can zoom up the ranks here, good work is recognised and nobody questions your age. I get the impression that if you’re good enough you’re old enough.

What made you apply for this job?

Orange is one of the few companies allowing me to put my degree in telecommunications engineering to good use.

Tell us a memorable thing that’s happened to you at work

I went round Sol Trujillo’s (CEO of Orange Group) swanky flat in Park Lane, I’m not sure that would happen anywhere else!
