What we look for
We recruit graduates who set high standards of achievement in both their academic and personal life. Our trainee solicitors should display energy, maturity, initiative, enthusiasm for their career, a professional approach to work and be ready to accept early responsibility.
Your training
At Mills & Reeve, trainees complete six four-month seats and are recruited to the Birmingham, Cambridge and Norwich offices. The firm is happy for those trainees with a desire to undertake a seat not practised in their base office to temporarily move to another office, including London, and supports this move with an accommodation allowance. During each seat the trainee sits with a partner or experienced solicitor. Regular feedback is given to aid development. Performance is assessed by a formal review at the end of each seat and early responsibility is encouraged. Training is supported by a full induction, in-house lecture programme developed by our team of professional support lawyers, and the professional skills course (PSC). The firm attracts city-quality work but also offers trainees a relaxed and supportive environment.
