As the leading UK partnership of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys, the firm has a long history of providing intellectual property (IP) advice from its extensive UK and overseas offices. Our size enables us to provide a full range of IP services as well as having specialisms in most areas of advanced technology. Our clients are a wide spectrum of national and international organisations and businesses including many household names.
Our graduate recruitment programme is relatively small and specialised, with candidates being selected each year on their achievements within a particular field. Training is therefore very specific to the needs of the individual and the Partner they will train with, but support is available to all through in-house tutorials, external courses and, for the future, intranet groups across the firm.
The profession is both intellectually stimulating and financially rewarding, with good career prospects. The firm also provides an excellent range of employee benefits.
Patent Attorney
Applications are welcomed from science or engineering graduates with good Honours degrees, and particularly from candidates who are taking a Doctorate or undertaking postgraduate research. The disciplines we seek will vary from year to year, but details of current requirements will be found on our website. Knowledge of French or German will be an advantage. As a trainee you will be expected to qualify as both a UK and a European Patent Attorney.
Trade Mark Attorney
Fewer opportunities exist for traineeships in this discipline, but law graduates are preferred. As well as an excellent academic record, we look for the ability to apply sound commercial judgment and the skills to build a trusted adviser relationship with your clients. You will be expected to qualify as a registered Trade Mark Attorney.
