Over 36,000 people in 500 offices across 120 countries make up one giant global family with an annual revenue of $7.6 billion. It's an approach that makes us unique, and has played a huge part in our success. Today, Aon is the world's largest insurance brokerage, captive insurance company manager and reinsurance broker.
Our global position allows us to offer our clients a diverse range of products and services designed to meet their common and not so common business needs. In the same way, it will enable you to gain varied work experience and broad industry exposure.
The three Aon Graduate Programmes :
Insurance, Reinsurance and Risk Management

Actuarial Pensions Consulting
As a leader in actuarial consulting, we’ve been advising employers for over sixty years. On our Actuarial Consulting Graduate Programme you’ll have practical experience, extensive training and development and the support you need to study for professional qualifications.
Employee Benefits Consulting.
Aon Consulting was named the best employee benefit consulting firm in 2006, 2007 and 2008 by the readers of Business Insurance magazine. We are creating the future of how organisations reward their staff, adapting and flexing to individual requirements.
The Aon experience
So what is the Graduate Programme and what is its purpose?
The Aon graduate programme seeks to identify the future stars of our business – or high-performers, as we call them – and give them every opportunity to succeed and forge a successful career with us. The key word here is ‘opportunity’ - the programme will provide you with significant opportunities to grow your experience, knowledge, skills, relationships and ultimately your career at Aon.
What this means in reality
Challenge - The first thing to point out about the Aon Graduate Programme is that it will be full of challenge; some challenges will be personal and some will be in teams. There is a huge amount to learn through all of them, from practical knowledge and skills to an increased understanding of yourself, the choices you make and goals you have for the future.
You will not have to face these challenges alone though. There will always people on hand to support you through them.
Experience - The experiences that we aim to give you are those which will give you a broad understanding of the nature if Aon and the breadth of services we provide to our clients.
Depending on which area of the business you have joined (Aon Consulting, Benefit Solutions, Insurance and Risk Management) the experiences offered on the programme are tailored to meet your needs as well as those of the business.
Throughout the graduate programme you will be doing real work for real clients and will have the chance to add real value to Aon.
Knowledge - To be sure that we serve our clients better than anyone else can our people need to be more knowledgeable than the competition. The Graduate Programme will give you the foundational knowledge you need to understand the industry find your own direction. This happens through:
1. Qualifications – you will embark on industry qualifications. Whether it be Actuarial, Insurance or otherwise, we will provide the time off necessary for study and support in making your qualification choices. We will pay for these and will give you bonuses for completion.
2. On the job training – we have a wealth of experienced individuals who will spend time with you and teach you the ropes.
Skills - Putting the knowledge you gain into practice will require skill. The training that Aon provide to you in this are will be focused, commercial and experiential and will include such things as:
- The skills to present (internally or externally) in an effective, engaging and professional manner.
- The ability to communicate is at the heart of what we do and although we have hired you because we see this ability already, we will provide training to help you hone your skills.
- Managing projects is a skill you will learn through practical experience. Each of you will be involved in running and managing projects that will actively add value to Aon.
- Relationship management is something you will find to be a deep and technical field which will require you to bring many other skills such as communication, time management and project management together. It is essential in our business and we will support you in developing these skills with practical training and real life experiences.
Relationships - The Aon Graduate Programme will provide you with many opportunities to meet senior leaders of our business. Starting on day one, we will introduce you to people who have the experience, knowledge and skills that you will yourself develop over time. They are committed to your future and we encourage you to make the most of their time. Some specific relationships we will help you develop are:
- A ‘Buddy’ – someone who will be there for you on a day to day basis throughout the programme to help you navigate this organisation.
- A ‘Mentor’ – an experienced individual who can give you guidance on your career, on specific issues, or simply act as a sounding board for your thoughts.
- Management Sponsors – there are many senior and experienced people within Aon who will take an active interest in your development. Some of them will be there to hear how you are getting on, others will task you with specific projects.
- HR, Learning and Development and graduate programme management – are all here to help smooth the way, open doors and advise you on your developing your knowledge, skills and career.
The responsibility for developing these invaluable relationships is yours.
