Our Graduate Development Programme

We offer a two-year IET and IMechE accredited Graduated Development Programme.

Our diverse range of global businesses, products and services offer our graduates a wide range of opportunities for professional and personal development.

Our graduates undertake placements in the UK and around the world giving them opportunities to travel, learn new languages and experience different cultures while continuously developing their professional skills across a range of products and markets.

Developing our graduates

Our Graduate Development Programme aims to develop our professional engineers and managers of the future. We have a comprehensive professional mentoring scheme to support our graduates towards becoming chartered engineers.

We offer workshops in important business and interpersonal skills. And 12 months after completing the FKI Graduate Development Programme we offer our graduates the opportunity to develop their management and business skills through an MBA.

As a diverse engineering group we seek a diverse range of talent, experience and aspirations in our pool of graduates.

As well as a high level of technical knowledge and skills we also look for effective interpersonal, organising and teamworking skills. And very importantly a willingness to learn through exposure to a variety of situations and projects.

Fast facts

Number of graduate vacancies
10–12 annually.

Degree disciplines
Degree or higher qualification in engineering or a scientific discipline. Preference will be given to electrical, electronic, mechanical, materials and manufacturing engineers.

Recruiting for
Two-year comprehensive graduate training programme, accredited by IET and IMechE, and participation on an MBA

Placements
Four six-month placements will be undertaken by FKI graduates in companies based in the UK, Netherlands, Czech Republic, France, China, Italy, Germany, USA and Canada (language training is given for placements as required).
