EWS is the leading rail-freight operator in Britain and much of Europe. We deliver innovative services for major players in, among others, the electricity-supply, construction, waste and logistics industries. Put simply, we’re very, very big.

In 2007 we became part of the Deutsche Bahn Group and now, as part of a group that extends from China to Western Europe, the opportunities for ambitious graduates are endless. We can offer even more scope, greater opportunities for overseas work and the chance to work in a massively expanding multicultural organisation.

Careers in production management

Keeping the country’s largest fleet of wagons running smoothly and efficiently is no small task. The majority of our staff work in our depots and terminals. As a production manager, you’re in charge. It’s about reliability, efficiency, customer relationships and safety.

To succeed in this role you’ll need exceptional people skills and a gritty determination. Your first job during training will be trainee production manager.

Careers overseas

We’re big in the UK and we intend to be just as dominant in Europe and beyond. We see huge growth potential across Europe. This means opportunities for highly talented and ambitious graduates who are fluent in French, German or Spanish along with English. Our Euro Cargo Rail businesses in Spain and France are set to grow, creating more leadership opportunities in Europe.

Who we’re looking for

Self-assured, confident graduates who have obtained or are expecting to gain a 2.1 or equivalent. Our preference is for graduates who are fluent in two European languages, one of which must be English. All applicants must be eligible to work in the EU.

What we’re offering

At EWS we guarantee one thing – responsibility. And if you’re up to the challenges you’ll progress quickly. Our graduate programmes combine theoretical and practical training along with real, hands-on management experience. Each programme is designed to last around 18 months. You’re then off and running – anything from a depot to a new acquisition.
