SEO London provides outstanding students in their penultimate year of university from ethnic minority groups underrepresented in the City (specifically Black and Asian) access to client-interfacing internships at the top investment banks. In addition to gaining access to these internships, SEO interns receive unparalleled training, one-to-one mentoring by at least one senior-level banking professional, access to hundreds of alumni in the industry and ample networking opportunities. By doing this, SEO trains the next generation of business and community leaders. Upon completion of their internships, over 80% of SEO interns receive full time jobs offers.

Internships Available:

More than 180 internships are available for Summer 2008 within SEO sponsor banks. Internship positions are in Investment Banking, Sales, Trading, Research and Asset Management divisions. Technology placements (summer and full year) will also be available. Internships placements are in the following investment banks: Bank of America, Barclays Capital, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan, Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS.

SEO’s requirements:

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with strong numeracy and interpersonal skills. Internships are for talented students who are in their penultimate year of university. You must be from an ethnic minority background underrepresented in banking in the City (Black and Asian). All subjects will be considered; in particular Economics, Maths, Engineering (all types), Sciences, Law, Business, Finance, Management, Accounting, Arts and Languages. Admission also depends on evidence that candidates will give back to SEO and to the community at large through active alumni participation and volunteerism. You must be available to work for 10 weeks between June 20th and September 8th. You should be on track for a 2.1.

Wage:

£ 500-850 per week for the duration of a 10-week internship.
