As Investors In People, we are committed to providing a blended and realistic approach to training and development.

For those entering the organisation at a Trainee, Junior or Graduate level, we offer comprehensive on and off the job training lasting approximately 6 months, with an initial 5 week induction programme covering all aspects of how to be the best recruitment consultant together with marketing and accounting courses. We also provide bespoke development and interactive media learning.

The majority of the training is tailored to the individuals’ needs and is a continual programme of learning and progression  which is constantly evaluated, updated and amended. We also offer tailor-made external training courses recent courses have included strategic and recruitment excellence.

Additional qualifications are offered within the company. For our professional services divisions we are currently sponsoring employees who are studying for CIPD, CIM and CIMA.  Our new initiative for this year is to be able to offer recruitment consultants the opportunity to study and acquire the professional qualification awarded by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation.

Development is also a key focus of attention at Marks Sattin. All employees have appraisals twice a year and this is backed up with monthly one-to-ones with Line Managers. In addition to this we also have bi-annual succession planning meetings with everyone helping individuals to think about their career paths and aspirations.

Awards

We have been shortlisted for the Recruiter 2007 Awards for Excellence in Training and Development.  This award is across the whole recruitment industry and we are one of 4 agencies to be shortlisted.  The award will be announced at the end of March.
