2–3 Gray’s Inn Square acts for over 300 local authorities, central government departments and public bodies as well as companies and individuals. Our work extends as far as Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and the West Indies and includes European Law and the Convention of Human Rights. We offer direct access to approved professional bodies.
Type of work undertaken
Chambers’ key areas are:
• public and administrative law, including judicial review
• local government law
• planning law, including compulsory purchase and compensation
• environmental law
• regulatory crime, including health and safety and consumer law
• licensing law
• social housing law.
We also practise in employment, professional negligence, landlord and tenant, crime, general civil litigation and immigration and asylum law.
2–3 Gray’s Inn Square is unusual in that common law work flourishes within a set with the high reputation for public law.

Pupillage
Chambers is amember of OLPAS (summer session).
We offer pupillages for 12months only, which include three four-month pupillages within chambers to ensure that pupils experience a broad range of work.We run a comprehensive internal training programme with an emphasis on advocacy.We encourage pupils to conduct a substantial amount of their own work in their second six months. Earnings fromthe second sixmonths are over and above the pupillage award which is £25,000, with a guaranteedminimumearning of £10,000 in this period.
There is aminimumdegree requirement of a 2:1
Mini-pupillage
Assessedmini-pupillages are available, but we do not provide student visits. Applications formini-pupillage should bemade in writing, supported by a CV, and clearlymarked ‘mini-pupillage’. They should be sent to ‘minipupillage@2-3gis.co.uk’. Applications are dealt with after Easter each year and themini-pupillages, of one week, are held over the summer, usually between June and September.
