Thales Graduate Engineering Roles
Software Engineering
Thales Software Engineering Graduates have an opportunity to work on some of the most exciting technology driven projects, as well as undertaking a challenging training programme that involves a mixture of courses and on the job training. Performing a real job from the start, you will work on software solutions for state of the art electronics systems, sub-systems and equipment. Part of a team, your tasks will be varied, and will include designing & developing code, integrating and testing software systems, building prototypes and carrying out testing.
Our structured training programme will include internal and external training courses, culminating in a recognised professional engineering qualification.
Simulation Engineer
Thales Simulation Engineering Graduates have an opportunity to work on some of the most exciting technology driven projects possible, as well as undertaking a challenging training programme that involves a mixture of courses and on-the-job training. Simulation Engineers will work within teams developing simulators, their systems and their training support systems and will be involved in a project from Requirements Analysis through Customer Acceptance to Certification with the Regulatory Authority.
Simulation requires people with multiple skills who have an interest in aviation, have knowledge of computers, systems and software and are able to work with others to develop and integrate software and hardware systems.
A flexibility of working patterns is required at times to support the lifecycle in addition to being able to travel to Customer sites around the world to support installations, certifications and updates.
Algorithm Engineer
Thales Algorithms Engineering Graduates will find themselves working on a number of customer and privately funded projects in these product areas, reporting to the respective project managers. They will work alongside other hardware, software, systems and algorithm engineers to initiate, test, modify and develop algorithms to improve and extend the performance of existing systems and to develop new product applications.
The successful candidate will most probably be a physicist or engineer with strong mathematical skills or a mathematician with the ability to apply maths to data analysis and extraction of information from data
Research and Technology Engineer
Thales Research and technology Graduates will primarily be working towards applied research. Working closely with Thales operating companies, academia and external customers worldwide, our teams produce leading edge concepts and solutions, to give Thales the competitive edge in delivering systems, products and services.
Radio Frequency Engineer
Thales RF Engineering Graduates have an opportunity to work on some of the most exciting technology driven projects, as well as undertaking a challenging training programme that involves a mixture of courses and on the job training. The Special Products Group within Thales Underwater Systems undertakes a wide variety of tasks including the design and production of high performance multiband antennas, design of specialist sonar analysis equipment, vibration analysis and sonar training equipment.
Your degree will be in a relevant engineering subject and you will have a good general understanding of engineering and in particular RF engineering including RF analogue and digital design.
Integrated Logistics Support Engineer
Thales ILS Engineering Graduates have an opportunity to work on a variety of demanding projects analysing and synthesising the support solutions for our products. We will train you in the fundamentals of ILS including understanding the systems we work on, influencing design for supportability, supportability concepts, reliability and maintainability studies, trade-off models and through life support analysis.
Performing a real job from the start, you are likely to work on the support solutions for state of the art systems. Part of a team, your tasks will include communicating with ILS Engineering colleagues and staff from other Engineering disciplines, carrying out modelling of equipment and support systems, preparing case reports, presenting recommendations for review and working closely with project teams.

Mechanical Engineering
Thales Mechanical Engineering Graduates have an opportunity play a role in developing some of the most exciting technology driven projects possible. As well as undertaking a challenging training programme that involves a mixture of courses and on the job training, you can expect to have a real job to do from Day 1, working on mechanical engineering solutions for state of the art systems, sub-systems and equipment. Part of a team, your tasks will be varied covering the whole development cycle from specification to assembly.
Systems Engineering
Thales Systems Engineering Graduates have an opportunity to work on some of the most exciting technology driven projects possible, as well as undertaking a challenging training programme that involves a mixture courses and on the job training. Performing a real job from the start, you will experience all aspects of the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements analysis through to testing, acceptance and delivery of systems solutions.

Commercial
Thales Commercial Graduates will develop their careers in areas including Procurement, Commercial Risk Management or Contracts Management, and will undertake a challenging training programme involving both courses and on the job training. This is a varied opportunity, where you can expect to play a key role in project teams, overseeing commercial issues throughout the project lifecycle – this could include identifying & appraising suppliers, negotiating contracts, mitigating risk, managing performance and supporting bid activity.
Finance
As a Finance Graduate, you will undertake a challenging training programme including both courses and on the job training. From the outset you will have a real job to do, while you learn accountancy methods, processes and procedures in tandem with attending professional institution training. Your will develop to become a business adviser, providing financial expertise, analysis, modelling, and identifying financial solutions to meet the needs of the business in response to a wide range of scenarios.
Sales & Marketing
Thales Sales & Marketing Graduates undertake a challenging training programme including courses and on the job training. You can expect to be involved in a variety of activities from developing market intelligence to analysing sales opportunities to undertake sales forecasting. Involved in PR & Communications, you will support events, develop business relationships and play a role in bidding for new opportunities.
Programme Management
Thales Programme Management graduates will undertake a challenging training programme involving both courses and on the job training. From Day 1, you will be part of a project team taking on a variety of responsibilities where you will be involved in project planning, lifecycle management, project finance and risk management. Your role will develop with the aim of you becoming a fully trained programme manager.
