My decision to choose Indesit Company over other offers was based on several reasons including its brand name, its challenging, fresh and innovative outlook about the future, and having an international aspect made a real difference.

‘As a graduate I was given responsibilities from the off.’

Experience

On joining Indesit Company I was given a sound introduction to the products, manufacturing and business processes within the company. I had the opportunity to visit and experience the workings of all four of the UK manufacturing sites. This was hugely beneficial during my initial period in the company, as it gave me an understanding of the organisation and its operations as a whole.

Within the first six months I was given pivotal roles in several manufacturing projects. These included the development of the master quality control plans and visual management system for the Peterborough factory and the implementation of an environmental management system. This wide spectrum of projects provided the opportunity for me to understand the various business functions within the factory and hone my business acumen.

On completion of these projects I was appointed Quality Technologist, in which I was responsible for maintaining and improving quality, implementing quality processes and procedures.

Recently I have been promoted to the position of Cell Leader within the Manufacturing Department.

Job support

As a graduate I was given responsibilities from the off. At first this can be a daunting experience, but the support received from my colleagues, line manger and the central training function complemented the on-the-job training perfectly.

In addition to the centrally run training courses, the opportunity to sit down one-to-one with senior members of the organisation has given me the support required to develop my own specific needs and career progression plans in the company.

Summary

Indesit Company has a real multicultural feel and in addition is an exciting place to work, as people are energetic and motivated to deliver excellence. Indesit Company is keen to invest in the development of its people by providing support in attaining professional qualifications and chartered memberships, as appropriate.
