About Us

Enterprise is a major support services company that maintains the infrastructure throughout the UK. Well established and still growing, we have over 40 years experience and provide jobs for over 13,000 employees and operatives across 170 sites throughout the UK.

Operational Divisions

he Operational Divisions of Enterprise provide essential installation, maintenance and management services throughout the public sector and the private sector. Our teams help people in their homes to access clean water, use the telephone, have a safe gas supply and receive power. We also work in local communities to collect the refuse, clean the streets, resurface the highways and maintain the parkland.

The partnership approach we take with our customers and the standard of services we provide has led to many long standing relationships being formed. Many of our customers are household names and include:

  • National Grid
  • Severn Trent Water
  • Highways Agency
  • BT Openreach
  • Transport for London
  • Manchester City Council
  • London Borough of Harringey
  • Ministry of Defence

The Commercial Support department plays a key role in the effective operations of Enterprise. It supports all Operational Divisions and provides compliance, governance, service delivery and cost perspectives. The Commercial Support team aids the management and development of the company whilst ensuring it has robust commercial practices. Commercial Support encompasses the following areas:

  • Insurance and Claims Management
  • Credit Management
  • Commercial Systems
  • Commercial Risk Management
  • Commercial Audit
  • Direct Service Provider Management

Health and Safety

We work at the centre of people’s lives, providing essential daily services on behalf of Utility companies and Central Government organisations. This means that the health and safety of our employees and the general public is of paramount importance.

Our health and safety systems and policies are rigorous, thorough and proven. We have an outstanding record that has been recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for eight consecutive years. Many of our operations have also won consecutive Considerate Contractors Awards where health and safety is an important aspect.

We ensure regular, comprehensive training tailored to specific jobs that meet industry requirements. We also encourage personal ownership of health and safety.

Our TargetZero initiative was launched with the belief that all accidents and incidents can be prevented and it reflects our commitment to health and safety. We have had continued success in the reduction of accidents by adopting this proactive approach, which has been recognised once again by RoSPA with a Gold Medal Award win in 2008.

Human Resources

The Human Resources department consists of various teams that each look after a different aspect of employee well-being and relationships. The Training team collates and maintains records for all employees and arranges tailored training courses to encourage our people to realise their full potential. The Learning and Development team co-ordinates the development of Managers and Graduates at Enterprise and undertakes Talent Management activities. The core Human Resources team handles employee queries, liaises with Trade Unions, maintains personnel files and supports transfers and mobilisations both internally and externally.

The Information Technology team at Enterprise is fundamental to delivering our services and meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers. The in-house team of IT specialists provide innovative solutions to meet the changing requirements of our business and customers, with each of our Operational Divisions having a dedicated IT team. The IT systems are designed to gather the right information rapidly and validate data entry against customer requirements. The aim is to deploy the right person, to the right job at the right time using the latest technologies and advanced scheduling techniques.

Finance

The Finance team provides support to all of our Operational Divisions. It involves, devising budgets, regulating cash flow, invoicing, costing, capital project evaluation and guiding and supporting management decisions. The team responds to changing business needs and communicates through all levels of the business. The key areas of the Finance team include Treasury, Payroll, Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger.

Marketing

The Marketing and Communications department is responsible for promoting the company and its services externally and supporting the internal development and growth of the organisation. Our activities fall into two main areas:

  • Marketing – Our aim is to position Enterprise’s key messages and themes to the right audiences in a relevant way. We work with the rest of the business to maintain and grow our customer relationships and establish the company in its chosen markets.
  • Communications – Regular and consistent communication is crucial to ensure that the key messages of Enterprise are understood fully. It is important we ensure that information and consultation flows freely throughout the company. Up to date and targeted communication helps to shape the direction of the company and ensures we operate as a cohesive entity.
