One of the UK’s largest energy companies, with nearly 13,000 employees, EDF Energy is all about discovery and innovation – whether it’s exploring new sources of renewable energy or finding better ways of serving our customers and enhancing the environment. From legal, IT, business management, finance, commercial and analyst roles to specialist engineering opportunities, we can offer you a chance to shape the future in a business that’s brimming with possibilities.
Whichever business area you join us in you can expect the very best in structured training and development. Why? Because we want you to maximise your personal and professional potential. In return, you’ll help us to overcome the key challenges facing our industry – and the world – over the next decade and beyond.
In our line of work, hands-on knowledge is a priceless commodity. Which is why, in addition to technical training tailored to your choice of career, you’ll be learning from highly experienced and capable colleagues – people who know what to do and how to do it. During the first 18 months, you’ll also join a foundation-level Management Development Programme specifically designed for graduates. Aimed at helping you become a successful manager, this modular programme will take you all around the country, giving you a fascinating insight into the day-to-day activities of each of our branches.
Throughout the Graduate Development Programme, you’ll find yourself picking up valuable skills. You’ll enjoy unlimited exposure to all areas of our business. You’ll learn how to manage projects, develop strong teams and deliver compelling presentations. Just as importantly, you’ll be given the opportunity to put theory into practice and show us what you’re really made of. This will involve working on a live project alongside fellow graduates, as well as on one of our many community-based initiatives.
By the end of the programme, we’ll have turned you into a consummate professional – confident in your abilities and ready to make an impact on a successful international business. But the learning curve doesn’t have to stop there: we have in place other training and development schemes, such as our Leadership Development Programme which was ‘highly commended’ in the 2006 National Training Awards, which will enable you to step into new and more challenging roles as your career progresses – and as your ambition grows.
