Introduction:

Npower is one of the UK's leading integrated energy companies and part of RWE, one of Europe's largest utility groups. By completing a placement with npower, whether that is a summer placement or a year long industrial placement, you will have the opportunity to gain real, hands on experience across a range of business areas.

Industrial placements:

The year long industrial placement schemes mirror those of the graduate schemes, so you could take up an opportunity in Engineering, General Business Management, Business Analysis, Finance or Information Systems. For more information on the types of projects you could get involved in, have a look on our website under the scheme that interests you.

Training & development:

A staggered training programme throughout the year has been designed to equip you with the skills necessary to get off to a really good start with the company. In addition to the on-the-job training, you will attend three courses specifically to support industrial placement students. Not only will these courses develop your skills, they are also a great opportunity to network with the other placement students.

All students will attend a development centre at the end of their year, where you will be put through your paces and given a chance to show us how far you have come since your recruitment.

Not only that, but outstanding candidates will be offered a position on the graduate scheme following their final year, giving the chance to focus on their studies without having the hassle of applying for graduate jobs.

Summer Placements:

We also offer shorter placement opportunities for those students who want to get ahead of the game and get some experience a bit earlier on in their studies. Vacancies can come up in any of our business areas, so check our website for the most recent opportunities.

You need to be studying for a degree at a UK university, have 300 UCAS points (240 UCAS point for Engineering roles) and be self-motivated and up for a challenge.

What you'll receive:

In return, not only will you get great experience for your CV, you will receive a competitive salary and 25 days' holiday pro-rata. And at the end of your placement you will also receive a development report highlighting the skills that you have developed and your strengths as well as areas that you can build upon for further improvement.

The deadline for applications will be end of May 2009, although placements will be allocated on a strictly first come, first served basis, so apply early to avoid disappointment!
