An Engineering career in the Royal Navy is unconventional to say the least. As an Engineer you’ll get to work on almost every kind of equipment imaginable on ships and submarines* based in amazing locations across the world. You will receive the best training opportunities ranging from 9 weeks basic training at Raleigh for a Rating to 6 months for an Engineer Officer. There are various roles to choose from including Air Engineering Technicians, Marine Engineering Officer and Weapons Engineering Officer. The pay’s good too. Starting salary for a Rating after basic training is 16K up to 28k for an Officer. Engineering Officers are also given a Golden Hello of 12K.*Please note that the Royal Submarine Service can only accept male applicants.
