The role

An Engineering career in the Royal Navy is unconventional to say the least. As an Engineer you’ll get to work on almost every kind of equipment imaginable on ships and submarines* based in amazing locations across the world. You will receive the best training opportunities ranging from 9 weeks basic training at Raleigh for a Rating to 6 months for an Engineer Officer. There are various roles to choose from including Air Engineering Technicians, Marine Engineering Officer and Weapons Engineering Officer. The pay’s good too. Starting salary for a Rating after basic training is 16K up to 28k for an Officer. Engineering Officers are also given a Golden Hello of 12K.
