PA’s training and development interventions are world-class. We believe in investing in the development of your skills and we aim to make sure that your learning curve is steep and continuous.
Graduate training programme
In your first four weeks with the firm, you will attend an intensive training programme that draws together staff from PA’s offices worldwide. All graduates, wherever they are based around the world, come here to learn about our business and understand our culture and our methodologies. The programme covers essential aspects of business, consulting and interpersonal skills and is challenging but fun. It also provides an opportunity to witness the internationalism of PA, teaming up with people from all around the world.
Skill development
PA will provide you with ongoing training and development throughout your career. As a new graduate analyst, much of your learning will take place in the field, working with clients under the supervision of more experienced consultants.
Our information centre will provide you with a wide variety of books and multimedia training materials so that you can learn at your own pace and you will also benefit from a variety of practice-specific training courses, run by consultants at all levels of the firm.
Finally, you will receive ongoing feedback and support from your line manager and mentor, who are responsible for helping you with your career and skill development.
Career development
PA is a true meritocracy, with career progression and development depending entirely upon your performance. You will join as an Analyst, but will be expected to progress to Consultant Analyst level within two years. Within the next five years, it is expected that you will be promoted to Principal Consultant, which will involve supervising teams of consultants and being responsible for quality, profit and project planning. If you demonstrate strong technical ability, combined with key interpersonal skills, such as leadership and business development skills, there are no obstacles to progression to senior management.
At PA, we take care not to pigeonhole our people and we support individuals who want to gain experience in other fields. You will have the opportunity to create a unique and personalised career path, and you will be continually encouraged to move forward, learn more and take on bigger challenges.
