Providing opportunities for Graduate Trainees and Placement Students is an essential part of our strategy to develop the skills base across all sites within our organisation. Successful Placements may be offered bursaries to help with their final year and the chance of a Graduate position when they complete their studies.
Structure
From the outset, whether you join us a Graduate or on a Placement basis, you will be provided with a structured training plan consisting of corporate training, product awareness and any technical requirements. Specifically, this will consist of the following:
Placements – In short, a 12 month structured training programme, focusing on individual skills development and geared towards your specific discipline/degree. Early responsibility and increasing levels of autonomy will be a key feature. On return to University you will be asked to deliver a company presentation, which could lead to the offer of a bursary or a future role within the organisation upon graduation.
Graduates – This is a comprehensive and dedicated 2 year structured programme, specifically designed with you in mind. Bespoke training, offering widespread exposure across a number of business units and locations, will ensure you’re fully equipped with the necessary technical skills and commercial acumen to the make the most of your future. On completion, success will hopefully lead to a permanent position at your chosen/original site of allocation.
Skills Development
Our aim is to ensure that you can build on the platform provided by your degree and are eventually able to successfully apply your skills and expertise in the commercial world. Innovation doesn’t come from machines, it comes from imaginative, creative and knowledgeable people who take resources and turn them into leading-edge products. Innovation comes from the types of graduates we’re looking to recruit. Just as our engines rely on a variety of components to work as one to create power and energy, Cummins relies on its employees.
Career Development
When it comes to sheer scale and diversity, not to mention career development, then we think you’ll find Cummins a hard act to beat! As a truly international organisation, operating on a global basis, we can provide unrivalled opportunities across a variety of disciplines at an increasing number of UK and worldwide locations. Benefiting from our continuing skills training, high levels of support and ongoing education, the only limiting factor to your success will be you.
