The Air Products Graduate Development Programme is a structured training programme that offers variety, responsibility, responsibility, the opportunity to work abroad and a broad knowledge base for your future career.

Structure

The Career Development Programme and Engineering Development Programme are designed to give graduates wishing to pursue a career in sales, marketing, finance, IT, engineering, etc, experience in a number of areas with three practical and productive assignments within two years. This will give you a broad range of experience and knowledge of the company – a sound foundation on which to build a successful career. Responsibility, flexibility and individual career planning are fundamental to the programmes. We currently operate in 13 European countries, developing graduates as a European resource.

Skills development

Apart from the on-the-job training that graduates receive during their three assignments or within their chosen function, extensive internal courses covering such topics as managerial and leadership skills, languages, presentation skills, time management, safety, sales, computing and product familiarisation are available. In addition, you may be required to attend specialist internal and external courses. All our graduate recruits are allocated a mentor to help and advise them through the programme and onwards in their career. In the autumn, our graduate intake from all over Europe meets senior management at a European induction course to find out more about the company and our business goals. A network of graduates is formed and they are able to help each other as they progress.

Career development

Graduates are recruited in the European countries where we operate and become part of our European talent pool. Assisted by a selected company mentor and human resources, you will plan your career which may lead you to cross-functional, operational and country boundaries. Careers offered include engineering, manufacturing, finance, IT, procurement, sales, R&D and marketing. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package and excellent promotion prospects. Air Products people make the difference... can you?

Qualifications

We encourage graduates to obtain professional qualifications, for example to become a Chartered engineer or qualified accountant. The Engineering Development Programme is accredited by the IChemE and the IMechE, and the Career Development Programme is recognised by CIMA.

Former graduate trainees

Our European President is a former graduate trainee, along with several of our vice-presidents. Many senior managers have also come through this route.
