Here at CMS Cameron McKenna the work we do is intellectually demanding and professionally stretching and you’ll find it an excellent grounding for a career in law.

Your Training Contract

Training contracts last for two years. During this time you will have four six-month ‘seats’ or placements, gaining experience in different practice areas. You will be awarded a priority seat when you start your contract and will undertake a compulsory seat in these areas: Corporate or Banking, and a contentious seat. There will be plenty of opportunity to try new things in each seat and you may even be seconded to a client or spend time in one of our international offices.

International Training

Our overseas presence successfully combines local and international resources to offer a full range of legal services to our clients and some exciting career opportunities to our graduate trainees.

It is expected that graduates who join the firm will spend one seat outside of our London flagship office in Mitre House. Graduates staying in the UK may join colleagues in Aberdeen, Bristol or Edinburgh to complete their seat. Outside of the UK there is the opportunity to work in our offices in: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Russia. A course of language lessons before and during your stay abroad, plus help with relocation, will ensure the transition is as smooth as possible during these six months.

Sponsorship and Awards

Sponsorship for both the GDL and LPC is available – please refer to our website for further details. From September 2007 you will be required to undertake you LPC at BPP Law School, London, where we will pay your fees and provide a maintenance grant of up to £7,500. Further details will be provided on offer of a training contract.
