After graduating in Structural Engineering with Architectural Design from Heriot Watt University, Freya joined Cundall in 2006 as a Graduate Structural Engineer.

“I wanted to work for a company with which I could become chartered, but the variety of disciplines and types of projects that Cundall have were the main reasons why I chose the practice.

When I left university I felt I lacked practical experience, but I have been given the opportunity to gain that knowledge here. Working at Cundall has helped me to understand the theory I learnt, and the projects I have worked on since joining have allowed me to feel more confident in what I am doing. There is always someone willing to help if I need it, and seeing things in real life helps them to make sense. Cundall has given me the opportunity to work on a range of projects and spend time on site as well.

I am aiming to become chartered and have regular updates and meetings with both my mentor and the senior engineer who I work with. They help me to ensure that I am undertaking what I need for my training and assist me in achieving my objectives.
