Steel is the most important, multi-functional and adaptable of all materials. The development of our world would not have been possible without steel. If a product is not made from steel, a product that is made from steel has been used making it.

Corus, now part of the Tata Steel Group, is a multi national metals company, providing steel and aluminium products and services to customers worldwide.

Corus Graduate Recruitment – Developing talent of the future

Some Corus graduates come to work in a smart suit, some wear a hardhat and safety boots, others wear lab coats. Whether you want to get your hands dirty, work with state of the art technology, regularly travel, or prefer an office environment - whatever your degree discipline we can accommodate you.

Corus is Europe’s second largest steel producer with revenues in 2006 of £9.7 billion and crude steel production of 18.3 million tonnes, primarily in the UK and Netherlands.

Combining global expertise with local customer service, Corus offers value, reliability and innovation. Major emphasis is placed on recruiting into the engineering and technical areas but equally important to Corus are the specialist roles of Finance, Logistics and Purchasing, just three of the main ten function areas, without which our business could not perform. Graduates and placement students help form a workforce of approximately 41,000, operating worldwide to ensure that the Corus brand continues to represent a mark of quality, loyalty and strength.

What we do

Corus metal is used in the new Grand theatre in Beijing and at Ground Zero in New York; closer to home it is used for 80% of UK made cars, track for the London Underground and the new Wembley stadium.

The Fusionpolis landmark in Singapore, Sky Plaza in Hong Kong, National convention centre in Vietnam, Ashburton Grove (the new Arsenal stadium), Rotana Hotel in Dubai, Terminal 3 at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, Delhi metro in India and the New Bank of America Building in New York all have Corus expertise and metal in common.

Corus also has major contracts with Airbus, Landrover Discovery, Bughatti Veyron, Network Rail, Bosch, Ikea and John West to name just a few.

Other innovative projects we have involvement in include; the elimination of hexavalent chromium in consumer goods, which causes white rust in storage, the development of a new “Munchbox” – a safe and hygienic lunchbox for children, new colorcoat roof and wall cladding that ensures longer durability meaning less need for people to repair roofs reducing accidents, and steel protective barriers at Westminster designed for security critical situations.

These are just some examples of the many projects and customers that Corus get involved with. To maintain our position as a leading steel producer we recruit across a range of functions and provide excellent training opportunities.
