Who we are
In 2007 Spectrum Strategy Consultants became part of Value Partners, a global management consulting firm which draws on 400 professionals from 25 nationalities. We are the leading company in the Digital Media, Broadcasting and Telecoms sectors, supporting the top managers of multinationals engaged in change, globalisation and innovation. We deal not only with strategy, but with all those issues which are strategic for our clients. Our offices are located in the world’s highest growth areas: Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
One of the reasons that Spectrum Value Partners is such an exciting place to work is that we are focused on innovative projects. In 1994, we had a vision that several key changes were about to engulf our industries - the Internet was in its infancy and convergence meant that content was moving onto new platforms. However it has taken over a decade for convergence to really play out across content providers and aggregators and we are now seeing new players, new industry structures and major technological advances.
Over the past thirteen years of disruption, upheaval and change within the media and telecoms sectors, Spectrum Value Partners has become part of the very fabric of these industries. One moment we find ourselves working in Moscow helping to set up a new magazine business, next we are forecasting how Personal Video Recorders will affect television viewing habits for producers, broadcasters and manufacturers, at the Royal Television Society Convention.
All of this means that Spectrum Value Partners’ consultants develop a unique skill-set and have extraordinary breadth of experience. It is no surprise that our alumni have gone on to take part in many innovative and challenging ventures. Amongst our earliest graduate hires were Brent Hoberman, and Martha Lane Fox, now famous as the founders of lastminute.com, one of Europe’s great internet success stories.

The Role of a Business Analyst
As a Business Analyst you will form an integral part of our project teams contributing to brainstorming sessions, and client kick-off meetings, through to the final presentation. You will have unlimited exposure to senior management and be highly visible, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact.

The Application Process
What are we looking for in candidates?
We look for outstanding applicants from any discipline (2:1 minimum) who have strong interpersonal skills, proven analytical and quantitative skills together with strong enthusiasm for the industries in which we work. We are looking for candidates who are innovative, creative, flexible and who relish problem solving. We place an emphasis on impact, credibility, team working, communication skills, business acumen and an international outlook, as well as looking for examples of leadership. Above all we are looking for well rounded individuals with lots of personality and drive.
What should you include in your CV and cover letter?Your cover letter should not be a summary of your CV - it really is your opportunity to stand out from the crowd. We are looking for a well written, sparky, engaging cover letter that demonstrates your drive and enthusiasm to join our dynamic, fast moving business. You need to explain clearly why you want to join Spectrum Value Partners and demonstrate your relevant skills, experience and interests. A good cover letter can make all the difference to obtaining a first round interview. Your CV should be well presented, clear and concise.

As well as starting your formal development and on the job coaching, you will be introduced to our Partners to understand the key priorities facing each of our sector groups and international offices.
What training / development will I receive?Spectrum Value Partners is committed to developing its employees. In addition to on-the-job coaching (the best way to learn is by doing), we also provide a range of bespoke training courses to enable you to tackle a range of challenging projects. Training and development needs are reviewed as part of our job-end appraisals and formal annual appraisal process.
International exposureYou will share experiences and working practices across our network of offices - either as part of an international project team or as an agreed exchange to one of our international offices.
Career Progression
We are committed to providing a clear path from Business Analyst to Partner. As consultants gain experience and are promoted, Spectrum Value Partners offers opportunities to pursue individual specialisms, take on management responsibilities and play a greater role in the overall development of the Company.
