Nestlé offers an appropriately diverse range of graduate opportunities in the UK, which are explained in detail on its careers website, www.nestle.co.uk/grads. Graduate programmes centre around six main departments: marketing, finance, sales, production and technical, supply chain and HR, and encompass a range of graduate schemes, internships and industrial placements.

Nestlé has one of the largest Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) marketing teams in the UK. Its marketing programmes provide an opportunity to drive some of the world’s most talked about brands, including the likes of Nescafé, Kit Kat and Shredded Wheat, which will no doubt look impressive on a CV. The graduate programme includes opportunities within Nestlé UK and its associated companies, Cereal Partners and Purina Petcare..

The human resources pathway offers graduates a chance to progress into a vital business role at the end of the two-year programme, rotating within our Ulrich 3 box model.

The sales programme lasts approximately 2 years, broken down by 12 months in a field sales role, followed by 12-18 months in a customer business team looking after key accounts, whereas supply chain training involves an 18-month rotation programme with 3, 6 month placements. Nestlé also provides a sales internship, which starts in the summer and lasts for 10 weeks in the Channel Category Sales Development function (CCSD), here you’ll be put in charge of hands-on project work, and if you prove yourself worthy, you may be offered a graduate position at the end of the scheme.

On the more technical side, there are various production and technical programmes at Nestlé, from engineering to quality management, both of which can start off as an industrial placements. Finance graduates will be rotated through at least three placements in their first three years, splitting their time between the Croydon head office and manufacturing sites, where they can also receive help in studying and passing a CIMA qualification.

Applicants for all schemes must have a gained a 2.1 or above in their first degree (or eu equivalent) and have full EU rights to work in the UK on a permanent full time basis without the need of a work permit or work visa. You will also need to be fully flexible on your work location.

Applications for most programmes are available online in the spring, but if you’re after an entry-level job, you can register your CV on Nestlé’s “Search and Apply” page throughout the year.

While the ongoing Business Principles will continue to evolve and adapt to a changing world, the basic foundation is unchanged from the time of the origins of our Company, and reflects the basic ideas of fairness, honesty, and a general concern for people.
