Amazing Career Awaits

To qualify as a chartered accountant, students must complete a training contract with an authorised training employer. There are approximately 2,200 ICAEW authorised training offices of all sizes and in all sectors throughout the world.

Credits for prior learning are available for up to eight Professional Stage modules for students who have studied a related degree. Although, the ACA is open to graduates from all disciplines, you don’t need to have studied Accountancy to become an ACA – in fact, only 11% of our trainees are Accounting and Accounting & Finance graduates.

Students apply directly to an ICAEW authorised training employer, our Training Vacancies guide details all information needed such as contact details, entry requirements, application deadlines and selection procedures. To find the latest edition of Training Vacancies search online or download the PDF.

Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business

The Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) provides invaluable insight and knowledge into finance, accounting and business. CFAB comprises of the same six modules from the Professional Stage of the ACA, having completed these successfully, it will show potential employers you have taken the initiative to prove you are a worthy candidate for a training contract.

There are no formal academic qualifications required before commencing CFAB, it’s open to all, and there is the potential to use it as a stepping stone on to the ACA. CFAB can be gained within one year and provides a flexible learning and assessment structure. It is also ideal as a taster qualification that you could study during a placement year if you have this option as part of your degree.
