Our culture, our graduate training programmes

UBS believes the key to achieving growth is developing the most talented, qualified and motivated people and giving them every opportunity to succeed. We design programmes to help individuals develop their skills in order to achieve greater success in their graduate careers. Our first year programmes, 10-week summer internship programme and extensive graduate training programme provide experiences that will showstudents and recent graduates what UBS is all about.

The UBS Insights and UBS Horizons Programs provide an experience that will help first year students stand out from their peers. The UBS Insights Program is held for one week in our London office during the spring on either 22-26 March or 12-16 April 2010. It gives students graduating in 2012 a valuable insight into UBS Investment Bank. This program can help students determine if they might be interested in applying for a UBS internship the following year. As part of the program, the students who attend UBS Insights will have the opportunity to participate in early assessments for the following year's summer internship program. Visit www.ubs.com/insights for more information.

The UBS Horizons Program provides students graduating in 2012 with the opportunity to travel abroad and work with Raleigh on a community or environmental project in the summer of 2010. Horizons winners are also guaranteed a place on our summer internship program in 2011. If you are interested please submit an application online. Early applications are recommended as candidates are assessed on a rolling basis. If you are successful you will be asked to submit an essay on a pre-determined question. The process will conclude with an invitation to our internship assessment center where up to 8 finalists and 8 runners up will be selected. Visit www.ubs.com/horizons for more information.

If you are interested please apply online. The application deadline for both programs is 17 January 2010. Early applications are recommended as candidates are assessed on a rolling basis.

Our internship programme allows students in their penultimate or final year, to work alongside some of the brightest and best people. We make sure that the experience is packed with learning, training and networking opportunities. The internship allows students to demonstrate their skills, learn about the UBS culture and explore a potential graduate career.

Our graduate training programme positions graduates for a successful career at UBS. All graduates from across UBS’s businesses and throughout the firm have a common mission to build business-specific proficiencies and firm-wide knowledge. UBS graduates enter the intensive, industry-leading EXPLORE graduate training programme at the start of their careers with the firm lasting from 18 – 24 months. These programmes provide various cross-divisional and specialist perspectives. They focus on specific business skills as well as personal development. Graduates will also learn about our organisation, core values and the professional standards we aspire to. There are opportunities for graduates to grow both professionally and personally and to create networks to bring our strategy to life.
