HW Fisher & CompanyHW Fisher & Company is a mid-tier firm of Chartered Accountants providing a range of services normally found in the largest practices with the personal touch associated with much smaller organisations.

We are at the heart of the Fisher Organisation, a multi-faceted group dedicated to providing our clients with a wide range of professional services. As a member of the Leading Edge Alliance of firms, we work closely with our overseas associates to offer a global service to our clients.

The Role

We are looking for talented individuals who can help us maintain our ethos of Creativity, Enthusiasm, Energy and Vision.

Based in the audit department, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of clients, from large international companies to small owner-managed businesses.  Our specialist groups provide expertise in trade unions, charities, media and entertainment, property, and many other sectors, and you can expect to be involved with clients in most of these areas.

We believe it is important that you have a diverse range of tasks to stretch your capabilities and provide you with a stimulating and varied environment.  We therefore aim to maximise your potential and give you responsibility as soon as possible.

Our specialist services, such as forensic accounting, corporate finance and insolvency, are closely integrated with the audit department, and you may well find yourself assisting with assignments for these departments.

Training and development

Your training is of vital importance to you – and also to us.  We aim to give you the best possible preparation for your exams, as well as ensuring that your practical training enables you to reach your potential.

BPP’s professional tutors provide your professional exam training.  We liase closely with them to monitor your progress, and make sure you have all the support you need to help pass your exams.

A comprehensive programme of in-house training complements your exam studies, and equips you with the tools to meet the challenges of your practical experience.  This is linked to an ongoing review and appraisal framework to ensure you are developing as we expect.

Your future

After you qualify, we recognise that you have important decisions to make.  You may want to develop your career in the audit department.  Alternatively, you may want to try something different, perhaps forensic accounting or corporate finance.

Either way, we will offer you a structured career progression, recognising your individual skills and abilities, and continuing to provide you with challenging and stimulating work.  As your career develops, we will help you prepare for these new challenges by providing ongoing training in management and personal skills, as well as in current issues in tax and accounting.

Applications

Although we accept applications all year round, we recruit for two intakes – September and January – in roughly equal numbers.  You can apply by visiting our website www.hwfisher.co.uk and completing the online application.
