Who Should Apply?

We’re looking for people with talent, personality and ambition. We accept candidates from any degree discipline, but you must have a strong academic and extracurricular record of achievement. Denton Wilde Sapte lawyers are also good team players with excellent interpersonal skills and the flexibility to grow with the firm.

Training Programme

You will undertake four six-month seats. We offer trainees as much choice as possible, however there will inevitably be competition in some areas. There are also a few requirements: all trainees must complete a seat in either Banking & Finance or Real Estate, as well as one transactional and one contentious seat. And not all seats need be in our London office - there may also be an opportunity to spend one of your seats either on a client secondment or with one of our international offices.

Whatever your seat you will be expected to rise to the challenge. Our approach will be to give you as much responsibility as you can handle. After all, this is where the real learning starts - on the job - and you will be working with the law and with clients in real business situations.

As part of your training contract, we will cover your law school tuition fees and provide a maintenance grant of £6,000 for each year of study, £7,000 if studying in London.

Vacation Schemes

Denton Wilde Sapte hosts Open Days in December and Summer Schemes in July - both designed to help you decide whether ours is the right firm for you. These schemes consist of business games, department visits and social events, giving potential trainees an insight into commercial law and our way of life at Denton Wilde Sapte.

The Open Days are designed for non-law students who are in their final year or who have already graduated. The closing date for applications is 23 November 2007.

Law graduates or law students who are in their final or penultimate year are invited to apply for our Summer Schemes. Applications close on 8 February 2008, with interviews held during February and March.
