Foreign countries attract career-minded Brits
An increasing number of Britons are being attracted to jobs in foreign countries as a chance to further their already-established career, a new survey has revealed.
The NatWest IPB Quality of Life Report has revealed that of the 200,000 Brits who left the UK last year, the majority were professionals or managers.
In fact, according to the figures, the average expatriate is a professional aged 43 who earns £67,000 per year.
Head of NatWest International Personal Banking, Dave Isley, stated that the number of people heading to foreign shores will no doubt increase.
He added that there are still retirees interested in moving to a place in the sun, but also 'it is increasingly those who are suited and booted who want to improve their career opportunities by seeking employment around the world, with the added bonus of experiencing new cultures whilst doing so.'
One popular expat destination, Australia, is currently reviewing its citizenship test that was introduced in October last year.
