BT announces success of Wi-Fi network
Graduate jobs provider BT has revealed that it is at the halfway point of providing one million Wi-Fi locations around the UK and Ireland.
According to the organisation, it now has 500,000 businesses, homes and city centres connected to high-speed public wireless broadband, something which signifies a "significant milestone" for the company, Gavin Patterson stated.
The Chief Executive Officer of BT Retail said the firm's intention is to make Wi-Fi accessible in as many places as possible.
He remarked: 'As the UK's largest broadband retailer, we're happy to offer the biggest Wi-Fi network too. We'll continue to expand from here.'
Last year, the enterprise reduced its costs for casual users, with some people able to use the service for one or two pence a minute.
Earlier this month, the telecommunications giant announced it has secured a £40.2 million contract to supply data and voice services to Norfolk County Council.
It will also be providing internet functions to over 450 schools in the region.
