Balfour Beatty releases positive results
Graduate jobs provider Balfour Beatty has released a trading update ahead of its half-year report due on August 12th
Based on a number of acquisitions, cost-control methods and increases in the expenditure of customers, the company stated it was on target to meet expectations.
The organisation noted: 'Our cash position remains strong with average net cash in excess of £200 million for the first six months of 2009.'
It revealed that the UK construction industry was 'steady' and it outlined a number of successful projects currently underway in the rail, engineering and investment sectors.
Engineering developments include road work on the M74, A3, A421 and A46 and the company also highlighted that three out of four public-private partnerships had reached financial close in the first half-year ending 27th June.
