PwC welcomes April intake of graduates
The first batch of graduates joining Big Four firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in an April intake have been welcomed by the company.
Traditionally, the company has only recruited graduates with a start date of September, Consulting News reports.
However, Sonja Stockton, Head of Student Recruitment at PwC, said that the new initiative is more flexible for some graduates and has attracted a diverse range of candidates.
'By launching an intake in the spring we had hoped to appeal to those seeking to break with the traditional pattern of starting work straight after graduation or deferring for an entire year,' she said.
Ms Stockton added that some applicants for the April intake had been graduates who had favoured a career change after several years of working in another sector, with 43% of the new intake aged 25 or over.
PwC was recently voted the top graduate employer for the fourth consecutive year by The Times Top 100 Graduate Employer survey.
