Advisor offers guidance on breaking into events organising
As graduates reportedly exercise caution about building careers in the financial sector, an advisor has outlined the routes needed to break into events management.
An article featured in today's Independent newspaper outlines that the events and exhibitions industry is "growing rapidly" and it should be viable to get "in on the ground floor".
The ability to "hit the ground running" is a bonus for those looking to the industry, as well as networking skills, motivation and team working.
Sales, marketing and operations are the major areas offered up by events organising, it adds and formal qualifications are rarely needed to enrol on a related course.
Hilary Lawson, director of the association of events organisers, said; "Work experience can be very useful when looking for your first position and it is up to you to approach companies and find a placement."
Ben Fennell of British advertising firm Bartle Bogle Hegarty last month urged graduates to pursue their personal ambitions rather than worry about climbing the career ladder.
