20% of UK workers frustrated in jobs
New research has found that one in five UK employees are frustrated in their job, with many placing the blame firmly at the door of their managers.
The Hay Group survey revealed that managers' inability to create productive working environments is partly to blame, alongside ineffective structures and procedures and poor handling of under-performance, Personnel Today reports.
In addition, half of workers said they do not have the authority to make decisions they feel are crucial to their work.
Ben Hubbard, Regional Director of the Hay Group's employee survey division, urged bosses to remove 'unnecessary bureaucracy' and provide staff with the tools and support they need to do their job effectively.
'With fierce competition for the most talented employees, companies' efforts to engage their people will be wasted if not backed by a supportive and enabling environment,' he remarked.
This follows a recent report from learndirect that found that 60% of employees believe they have untapped potential their company should be utilising, according to Training Zone.
