Bankers 'happy' to stay in the industry
Many investment bankers are keen to stay in their chosen career for the rest of their working life, a new survey has revealed.
Following yesterday's news that only 16% of young people are keen to find a job for life, eFinancialCareers has discovered that if fired tomorrow, 34% of bankers say they would transfer to a banking non-entity to stay in the finance sector.
And 32% of investment bankers believe they would go back to education to gain more qualifications if they were to suddenly lose their current role, Online Recruitment magazine reports.
Only 15% of respondents would be keen to move away from finance and start a new career as an entrepreneur.
'A high proportion of City professionals are committed to staying in banking however they can,' editor of eFinancialCareers.com Sarah Butcher stated.
But the number of people who would consider returning to education is encouraging, she added.
