Female IT workers found to be lacking confidence
Many female IT professionals are not confident in their ability to succeed in the industry, a new survey has shown.
According to a poll by womenintechnology.co.uk, 41% of females in the sector lack self-assurance.
Furthermore, it was found that 65% of respondents do not have a clear career strategy in mind.
However, salaries for IT professionals have increased by 4.1% in the past year, CV Screen revealed recently.
Director of womenintechnology.co.uk, Maggie Berry, noted that most of the respondents agreed they needed to market themselves to employers.
'The majority of the women believed they were the driver of their own success with many updating their CV regularly,' she said.
Ms Berry added that although some females questioned speak to 'management so that others are aware of their achievements,' not all women are confident at selling their positive attributes to their bosses.
