IT managers reveal absurd employee requests
Employees often ask the IT support at their company to complete bizarre and menial tasks, a new poll has revealed.
This is despite last week's findings from CV Screen that revealed the average advertised salary for IT jobs has risen by 4.1% in the last year and now stands at £34,217.
But according to software business Sunrise, IT managers have been asked during their line of work to complete such tasks as to descale a kettle or even clean vomit out of a laptop, PublicTechnology.net reports.
Clueless workers have also required IT support to help them switch on their new laptop or realise that a 'foot pedal' is actually a computer mouse, the survey showed.
Chairman at Sunrise, Tom Weston, stated that 'people skills and time management' are essential in IT roles.
He added: 'As Facebook-generation graduates get established in business, you'd think that general IT skills in users would improve, but it seems the opposite is happening.'
