    Suits ditched by UK workers

Most employees in the UK do not wear a suit to work, a new survey has revealed.

This follows revelations last week in a study by Peninsula that six out of ten job candidates reach for their lucky underwear on the day of a job interview.

The new poll - conducted by the Aziz Corporation - has shown that only one in four people will opt to wear a suit when heading into the office, Online Recruitment magazine reports.

However, if in doubt, office workers should dress conservatively and suitably for their job title, Chairman of the company, Professor Khalid Aziz, stated.

'People will be judged on their appearance as well as their abilities and in the current climate some bosses will be reassessing their workforce,' he remarked.

Still the 'perception that we have to wear suits in order to be smart' has disappeared, Professor Aziz added.

The poll also revealed that six out of ten UK businesses now operate a more relaxed dress code.
