IT professionals see rising salaries
Graduates searching for work in the IT sector should be pleased to find out that paycheques in the sector have risen by 4.1% in the last year, according to a new study.
The current average advertised salary for a position in IT is £34,217, CV Screen has revealed.
And salaries have been boosted through increased demand for workers in the industry, Matthew Iveson from CV Screen suggested.
He added that the current economic problems mean this trend will continue.
'It is likely that as a result of the rising cost of living in the UK that more candidates will seek to move for financial reasons, thus putting further upward pressure on IT salaries,' Mr Iveson remarked.
However, recent research from Cyber Security Knowledge Transfer Network claimed that the majority of graduates are lacking a meaningful understanding of security.
John Harrison from the firm told IT Week that 80% of IT students spend less than five hours of teaching time on this subject.
