Oxfam praises student's work placement
A student studying a BA course in Fashion and Textiles has been praised by Oxfam for her work in one of its stores.
According to Oxfam Shop Manager Lisa McGorrigan, Ellie Kendall had a 'massive impact' on sales at the Harbone High Street branch in Birmingham, the Birmingham Mail reports.
Ms Kendall completed a five-week work placement at the Oxfam branch and during her time she dressed the mannequins to reflect the current trend for vintage clothing, as well as creating a designer-wear rail.
And her work does not stop there, as she is planning a charity fashion show to take place in coming months.
'By using her fashion knowledge and retail experience she was able to really increase the appeal of the womens clothing we had here. Her efforts increased sales for us and this has continued,' Ms McGorrigan remarked.
Ms Kendall's efforts follow a recent change of direction for Oxfam, who has commissioned students at the London School of Fashion to create new pieces made from donated clothing and materials.
