Good office design improves work ethic, say workers
Employees have said they would get more work done if their office was given a design overhaul, Metro Design Consultants has reported.
A poll by the firm has revealed that just under half (49%) of workers would boost their productivity levels in a refurbished office.
The current office environment of 43% of respondents is an embarrassment, the survey revealed.
And workers said their organisational skills and job satisfaction would improve in a new and improved workplace.
Daniel Taylor, Managing Director of Metro Design Consultants, stated that office design can speak volumes about a company.
He remarked: 'A thoughtfully-designed space, with attention to the ergonomic details, will no doubt rub off on employees, helping to make them more proficient and hence more valuable to the business.'
A good office environment will also boost morale and retention levels, employees told Metro Design.
Australian website Infolink recently suggested that ergonomic office furniture design could help employees suffering from back and body pain.
