IT graduates head to London
Graduates in IT tend to head to the capital after graduation to find the best employment opportunities, it has been suggested.
According to David Bevan, Director for the InterQuest Group, most graduates in the IT sector will start their career in London, ComputerWeekly reports.
'Graduates tend to establish themselves in a career in London and then take their skills out to other regions,' he said.
However, more companies are moving their headquarters away from London, Mr Bevan noted.
Although he added that London's 'dominance' in the graduate market will not yet be undermined by other UK regions.
For graduates who do not want to move to the capital, one industry that is not London-centric is retail, Mr Bevan stated.
Meanwhile, CV Screen noted recently that job applications to positions in the IT sector increased by 17% over January and February.
