    Foreign-language job opportunities outlined

The employment possibilities for those who are fluent in a foreign language have been outlined in a new initiative from Euro London.

In a bid to encourage more people to become bilingual, the organisation has highlighted a range of more unusual career options for foreign-language speakers.

Jobs such as tour organiser - booking venues for concerts - or art editor have been indicated as possible careers.

Linguists can also become private-jet sales executives or press-conference assistant, Euro London has stated.

Rebecca Peake of Euro London Appointments remarked that the 'business leaders of tomorrow' will be well prepared if they can be encouraged to take up a language when they are younger.

'With more and more companies operating in a global workplace, customers can be based almost anywhere in the world. Consequently language skills are becoming increasingly important,' she said.

It was recently reported that Newbury Park Primary School in Redbridge is to teach its pupils some phrases in 40 languages before they start secondary school.
