Work rage found to exist in UK offices
Workers in offices up and down the country are suffering from frustration that is leading to a state known as work rage, a new survey has revealed.
As reported by Online Recruitment magazine, around eight out of ten employees are affected by work rage, the research by Peninsula discovered.
Most workers become enraged in the workplace because of colleagues who aren't pulling their weight, the poll revealed.
Deb Gibbons, Head of Diversity at the firm, stated that employees should sit down with their managers to find the root of the distress.
'Managers should be trained to spot early signs of work rage in order to diffuse [it] quickly,' she said.
Ms Gibbons added that issues outside of the office can also contribute to work rage.
'Factors outside work also play a role, but there is a lot that employers can do to resolve the problem,' she stated.
In 2002-3 there were 849,000 reported violent incidents in England and Wales that were related to the work rage phenomenon, Consortium Publishing reports.
