Company opens graduate training scheme
Engineering company Oliver Valves has launched a graduate training scheme at its headquarters in Cheshire.
The programme, which will run from the Parkgate Industrial Estate in Knutsford, has been launched with the intention of raising the competition between Oliver Valves and bigger UK engineering companies.
It is available to an unlimited number of talented graduates, with the first two beginning training later this month, the Knutsford Guardian reported.
Deputy Chairman of the firm Mark Oliver said that the company is intent on 'recruiting the right people'.
'It is important that we utilise the talent of tomorrow to help create new ides and innovations which we need to continue to move forward not only as a company, but as a whole industry,' he added.
Year-long work placements have also been introduced to those still studying at university.
In related news, contractorcalculator.co.uk reported that engineers are set to become more sought-after as new laws mean that overseas contractors cannot be sponsored by recruitment agencies in the UK.
