Women say they lack the right skills
Many women think they do not have the business skills to enter today's jobs market, a new survey has shown.
A poll by graduate recruiter Accenture has revealed that 43% of females feel they are not equipped with the right knowledge to be successful in business.
The survey questioned 4,000 professionals around the world and found women in developing nations are more confident in their business skills than their counterparts in developed countries.
Managing Director of Human Capital and Diversity at Accenture, Armelle Carminati-Rabasse, noted that employers must ensure they are training their staff.
'In this increasingly competitive landscape, companies have a mandate not only to adapt their business models, but also to equip each of their employees with a wide array of skills - many of which have not yet been demanded of executives,' she said.
Women may feel they have to put in more overtime to compete with men in the workplace, as research by the Trades Union Congress revealed recently that single females under the age of 30 work the most unpaid overtime.
