Employees say they want more training
Employees have revealed that they are keen to undertake more training but feel that their employer is unlikely to oblige, according to a survey by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
LSC undertook the survey as part of its Train to Gain flagship service, which can help employers develop business potential through worker development.
It was shown that the biggest barriers to training were time and finances, although close to a third of workers said they would like to dedicate 29 February - an extra day provided by the leap year - to training.
Train to Gain Director Glenn Robinson commented: 'Improving your skills will help you take control of your future and will have as much impact on your career as it will on your general wellbeing.'
The results echo the findings of a recent survey by Conchango, which revealed that job candidates consider training a priority when looking for work, along with employer reputation and job security.
