Graduates head Down Under
Many British graduates are attracted to life in Australia after leaving university, one expert has suggested.
According to John Mumford of UK emigration company Visa Unit, there are many benefits of living and working in Oz, The Independent reports.
As well as the climate, good money and familiar language, Australia offers hardworking Brits opportunities, he said.
However, Mr Mumford warned graduates that they must ensure they are aware of the visa system in place.
'Many graduates can be under the illusion that just because they have a degree they have a passport to Australia, but this is not necessarily the case,' he stated, adding: 'Work experience is a vital part of almost all types of visa once you have qualified in your skill or trade.'
Research by the World Youth, Student and Educational Travel Confederation and the United Nations World Tourism Organisation recently suggested that more students are now heading to Australia's neighbour New Zealand following the introduction of relaxed working visa restrictions.
