New travel hotspots named
Graduates planning to go travelling in the new year may be interested to hear where the global hotspots are for adventurous Brits.
Celia Pronto, STA Travel UK Marketing Director, has highlighted the exotic locations that are likely to be popular with travellers over the next 12 months.
Ms Pronto pointed out that far-flung destinations such as Saigon and Buenos Aires are 'hot' for 2008.
'We also expect to see growing numbers head off to Nepal which is now politically more stable, as well as Bali and Sri Lanka,' she stated.
Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii and home to Waikiki Beach, was also marked as a potential popular location for Brits.
Ms Pronto noted that Panama is fast becoming a favourite with UK holidaymakers as is New Orleans.
She remarked that travellers are likely to come 'rushing back' to the hurricane-stricken city of jazz.
Tom Griffiths, founder of gapyear.com, recently warned gap-year students to ensure they have comprehensive travel insurance before they leave the UK.
