Students warned they are 'too rowdy'
Some students in the North West have been warned that causing a nuisance late at night will not be tolerated.
Undergraduates at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk, have been told that their rowdy behaviour is not acceptable, following complaints from local residents, The Ormskirk Advertiser reports.
Drunken antics and late-night clowning around may be par for the course for most university goers; however a private meeting was set up last night for students, the police, the students' union, senior university managers and health officials to put an end to anti-social behaviour.
A spokesperson for the university told the publication: 'The meeting was a response to a small number of complaints received from our neighbours about noise nuisance and anti-social behaviour, rather than rising levels of this type of behaviour.
'Edge Hill investigates all complaints it receives and will move to stamp out any incidents of anti-social behaviour involving its students.'
The university - which is ranked 106 by The Times Good University Guide - added that serious action will be taken against repeat offenders.
