Graduates looking for technologically advanced companies
The way in which companies use modern technology is increasingly important to people looking for graduate jobs, it has been claimed.
According to Lisa Dolphin, a business communications specialist at Mitel, clever organisations can gain an advantage over their rivals by utilising technology to attract the best recruits and improve communications between employees.
'Graduates choose their employer based on what technology is available to them,' she said, adding: 'They will turn down a job if what they are given is not adequate to their needs - and that includes using instant messaging, MySpace and Facebook in the day.'
Research by market research firm Redshift found that almost three-quarters of workers in the UK want unified communications, reports PC World.
Facebook is to launch a new application called Connect which allows users to long onto other websites and view what their friends are doing on them.
